The Quorumpeps® website gives an overview of reported quorum sensing peptides, describing their chemical and functional properties.
On this help page, we will help you navigate through the database content. Hovering the mouse cursor over the - symbol gives you specific information related to that part of the database.

Home page

At the home page of Quorumpeps®, a search box is given. In this box, you can enter your keyword: peptide name, peptide sequence (IUPAC one-letter amino acid code), SMILES, molecular formula (using the CxHxNxOxSx format), receptor name, species, method or literature information (author [or] title [or] journal name (full) [or] year). If your initial search does not return results, try a different synonym.

If you want to browse the database content, press the search botton without any keyword filled in the search field.

When searching for a specific receptor, method name or species, a list of all possible entries can be obtained when dragging the mouse cursor on the - symbol next to the specific criteria. You can easily click on a specific word from the drop-down box to obtain a list of all peptides related to that criterion.

At the home page of Quorumpeps®, you have the opportunity to submit new information by clicking Data submission to Quorumpeps. After filling in the form, we will put your information into the Quorumpeps® database. Our detailed contact information can be found after clicking Contact us; the schematic database model is obtained after clicking Database model.

Access to the home page can be obtained by pressing Home at the top of every page.

Result page

After clicking the search button, a structured overview of the results is given. In the first column, you have the opportunity to select the peptides of interest by indicating the appropriate box, left of the respective peptide ID-numbers. After pressing the compare button, a result table with all information about the selected peptides is given. Ticking the box on top of the first column will select all the peptides on the current page.

The second column of the results table gives the ID-numbers of the different quorum sensing peptides. If you wish to see more detailed information regarding a specific peptide, please click its ID-number (see Molecule page). The last column gives the reference-ID, in which the specific peptide is described. If you wish to see more details regarding a related publication, please click its ID-number (see Publication page).

If you would like to perform a more detailed search within the obtained results, please fill in a new keyword in the search box on top of the result page. After clicking 'Refine', a new result page is shown.

Molecule page

After clicking the ID-number of a specific peptide, all detailed information regarding that peptide is obtained. At the top of this page, the structure of the selected peptide is shown; this .hin structure file can be downloaded to your computer. The structure can also be rotated by dragging the structure; zooming is possible by scrolling on it.

Next to the structure, detailed information about the chemical and functional properties, origin and literature is given. All this information is shown after clicking the right symbol of the selected title box.

Publication page

After clicking the ID-number of a specific reference, all detailed information regarding this publication is shown. The article itself can be downloaded after clicking the Download link.
